SUREWA formally registered as a community-based organisation

Seven years after forming as a self-help group, Suguta Resilience Watch is now a formally registered CBO — strengthening its standing with communities, county government and partners.

Suguta Resilience Watch (SUREWA) is proud to announce its formal registration as a community-based organisation in 2026.

The organisation began in 2019 as a self-help group of valley residents determined to change the story of their home. Registration marks a new chapter: it strengthens SUREWA's standing with county government and development partners, and formalises the community governance that has always guided its work.

'Registration is not the destination — it is the tool,' the committee noted. 'The destination is a valley where every community enjoys water, food, education and a healthy environment.'
